Gardiner is located 6 miles south of Augusta, along the Kennebec River. It is north of Brunswich and east of Lewiston.

Coming from the east, the closest crossing bridges are the one from Randolph to Gardiner, the two in Augusta, and the one from Dresden to Richmond.

From Randolph: Start by getting in the left lane and when a third lane is added, stay in the middle one. This will lead you straight across at the light. The road veers to the left as it passes Rite Aid on the right. Then pass McDonald's hamburger place. Next is a gas station/store which is on the corne of my street, Highland Ave. Turn right.

Coming from the north along the river from Augusta & Hallowell: follow the road south along the river. When you get to the lights by the bridge, stay in the right lane. This will take you past Rite-Aid, McDonalds hamburger place, and the gas station/store after it, which is on the corner of my street, Highland Ave. Turn right.

Coming from the south along the river from Richmond:

If taking the road along the river, Highland Ave. is directly behind the Hannaford Supermarket going up the hill.

Coming from the south from Brunswick on Rt. 201: You will pass the Gardiner Common and go down the hill to the stoplight. Go straight, cross the little bridge over Cobbossee Stream, and turn left on my street, Highland Ave., which is between the TW Dick factory building and the gas station/store just before McDonalds hamburger place. It goes up a hill. (Don't take the left just after the bridge..unless you know your way here already.)

Directions from the foot of Highland Avenue:

Go up the hill---you will need to go 7/10th of a mile. You will pass the superintendents office on the left, where Winter Hill and Harrison Ave. form a V where they end at Highland Ave. As the road begins to go down just a little, you will see, on the right, two cute little capes next to each other. (Just before them is Hillcrest St. on the right, but Willow St. on the left.)

My house, number 207, is the next house on the right. It is gray, two stories, black shutters, white trim. (see picture)

Drive in, park in driveway by front porch. Crank the bell on the front door.

IF YOU MISS MY PLACE: You will pass the elderly housing next door---two 2-story buildings, circular driveway in front with a flagpole in the center. A good place to turn around. If you pass that, too, there will be a cemetary on the left at the corner of West Hill Rd. If you have gone more than a mile, you have surely gone too far.

From the west on Rt. 126 from Lewiston:

Directions from the south & west on the turnpike (toll road, route 495) or the free road, route 95. Note: the turnpike comes up north from the Lewiston area and rt 95 comes up from the Freeport - Brunswick area.

Take Route 126 (just before the toll station if you are heading north) towards Gardiner.

In about 2.8 miles, the Cobbossee Stream almost touches the road on the right. At this point, you will see on the left, West Hill Rd. On the corner is a little store with 2 gas pumps out front and an ATM on the side of the building. Turn left.

Go to the end of the road, 8/10 of a mile. You will pass Gardiner Regional High School on the right.

The road ends when it reaches my road, Highland Ave. Turn right.

I am 1/10 of a mile down the road on the left. Before my house, you will see a big two story housing unit with a looped driveway and flagpole in front. My house is the big gray one after that.
